The rundown
A magical academy story with battles and rhythm play
Disney Twisted-Wonderland is an adventure game for players who want a character-led story alongside a mix of light RPG combat and music challenges. You are transported to Twisted Wonderland and arrive at Night Raven College, a school for magic. With no clear way home, you get drawn into the students’ rivalries and the mysteries surrounding them.
Three ways to follow the story
Progress moves between story scenes, turn-based spell battles and rhythm games called Twistunes. You can also attend classes in History of Magic, Alchemy and Flight; these are part of the game’s school setting and connect with the story’s progression. The rhythm sections ask you to tap along to the music, while battles put characters against one another using spells.
Seven dorms, familiar inspirations
The students and dorms take inspiration from classic Disney films and their villains. Heartslabyul draws on Alice in Wonderland, Savanaclaw on The Lion King, and Octavinelle on The Little Mermaid. The other dorms take cues from Aladdin, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Hercules and Sleeping Beauty. The concept, main story and character designs are by Yana Toboso, creator of Black Butler.
