Back up and manage your Google storage

Google One brings phone backup and Google account storage management together in one app. It suits Android users who want a way to keep important phone data backed up and see how their Google storage is being used. The app is published by Google LLC and is listed in the Productivity category.

Keep phone data backed up

Google One can automatically back up items such as photos, contacts and messages using the storage included with a Google account. If you move to another Android phone, you can restore backed-up data to the new device. That makes the app useful when replacing or upgrading a phone, as well as for keeping a copy of selected personal data.

See storage across Google services

The app also helps you manage the storage shared across Google Drive, Gmail and Google Photos. If the storage included with your account is not enough for your files and memories, Google One membership plans offer additional space. The app provides a place to manage that storage alongside your backup settings.

At a glance

Google One has a 4.14-star rating from about 839,800 reviews and more than 1 billion installs. Those figures show that it is widely used, though they do not say whether its backup and storage tools are right for every account. It is most relevant if you use Google services and want to check or manage their shared storage from your Android device.
