Google Meet

Video calls for everyday conversations

Google Meet is a communication app for video calls and online meetings. Use it to catch up with friends and family or talk with colleagues, whether you are joining a planned meeting or starting a conversation. It suits people who want calls and group discussions in one familiar app.

Tools to make calls easier to follow

Meet includes features designed to help people see and hear one another. Automatic light adjustment can improve how you appear on camera, while noise cancellation can reduce background sound where available. Live captions can make spoken conversation easier to follow, though caption availability varies by language. Device capabilities and feature access can also differ.

Personal touches and extra features

For a more relaxed call, Meet offers effects, filters, reactions and backgrounds. Some additional tools, including meeting recording, noise cancellation, AI-powered note-taking and speech translation, are premium features rather than universally available options. Speech translation and captions are not offered in every language, so check availability if you need a particular language or feature.

At a glance

Published by Google LLC, Google Meet has a 4.44 rating from more than 11.7 million ratings and is listed at 10 billion or more installs. Those figures suggest it is a widely used choice for video communication, but they do not guarantee that every feature will suit every device or account.
